Yet another son rise

Yesterday marked the media debut of Akshay Dhoot, Rajkumar Dhoot’s youngest son. Akshay joined the family business over a-year-and-half back, after completing his engineering from University of Warwick. But until now, he was kept away from the media glare, mainly because the 23-year-old was learning the ropes of the business.

The press conference to announce the company’s new line of Wi-Fi air conditioners was the chosen occasion. Perhaps this was because Akshay is being hailed as the “young technocrat” at the company, heading innovation and technology at Videocon.

At his maiden conference, Akshay took only questions about the product’s technical aspects. His press team ensured that all business-related questions were taken care of by the COO. As the generation next of the business world, having a media savvy uncle like Venugopal Dhoot, would surely be helpful.
