Yash Birla to Yohan Poonawalla: Famous fathers get clicked with their daughters for a cause

Since December last year, more than 20 photographers shot 125 famous fathers - eminent industrialists and corporate leaders - with their daughters. Titled, Timeless Portraits of Love, the project was conceptualised by the governing board of Khushii, an NGO run by cricket legend Kapil Dev. The project was coordinated by independent consultant Sapna Kar.

-The power of connections: Kar says that while the board had a master list as its kick-off point, references helped expand the scope of its undertaking. So, Rashesh Shah, chairman, Edelweiss Group referred billionaire investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala. Darshan Hiranandani , MD, Hiranandani Group helped rope in Yohan Poonawalla of the Poonawalla Group. And, Krishna Bhupal of GVK Group brought in Yash Birla.

-Dressing to suit the shot: Framing of the shots was decided just before the shoot after a brief discussion. For example, at Rahul Kirloskar's house, the team decided that the garden was the best location and given the casual setting, a T-shirt and jeans was perfectly acceptable.

-Famous names that didn't get framed: While the fathers readily agreed to support the project, coordinating schedules proved to be a tough task. The biggest casualty of the conflicting schedule: Adi Godrej and daughters Tanya and Nisaba.
