Yogesh Kabra says yoga sessions have been the only constant pre-and post-lockdown.
From cooking to writing, Yogesh Kabra, Founder of XYXX Apparels Pvt Ltd, revealed that he has picked up several hobbies during the lockdown, and dropped them as well. The new WFH era has helped the top boss convert his travel time in to personal time.

Zoom fatigue
“I cannot wait to go out and meet people honestly. I am really looking forward to meeting friends, family and colleagues. Zoom calls are fun but I miss the high-fives and our conversations over lunch every day.”

Shopping expeditions
“I think we have all been in this bubble for too long. I would love to go to a noisy city for a change where I have a bunch of friends. More importantly I haven’t shopped at all this year so some of the places on my radar are New York, London, and Dubai. The closest shopping destination is Dubai and it has the best the world has to offer.”

Food and fitness
“I want to get back to competitive sports. I need to feel that rush of adrenaline again. Cricket and squash are on my mind. As for food, I have actually gotten used to “not eating out”. I had started cooking interesting meals everyday initially but the charm quickly wore off. Lately, I have been craving sushi from Joss, Mumbai.”

Pandemic acquisitions
“I am also thinking of investing in a larger, more ergonomic WFH space and desk at home. If only I knew this was not going away soon. A new desktop with a bigger screen for WFH since screen time has significantly increased but I hope things open up now that the worst is behind us. Screen time isn’t fun for me, there is hardly any banter. I would rather spend time in real team meetings.”

Hobby-hopping
“I have taken and dropped a lot of hobbies during the lockdown. I tried everything from cooking to writing but nothing seems to stick with just how hectic work life is now. Yoga has been the only constant and was a steady habit even before the lockdown. I use the Down Dog app for practising yoga and typically walk 6-7 km in the evening. I don’t recommend anything extreme or hard-core; just follow a disciplined regime. Thanks to WFH, travel time has now been converted to personal time.”

Yash Dongre Business head at House of Anita Dongre

“I have fine-tuned my baking skills. Although my wife Benaisha and I aren’t vegan, the rest of the house is. So, during the lockdown, vegan baking took centrestage. Benaisha makes the best chocolate mousse cake. It’s made with dates, almond flour and coconut milk — it’s a huge hit. I find baking therapeutic. It’s a precise activity where the outcome is as perfect as the work that goes into it. If you follow the instructions, the end result is good. I love that.”
