Xiaomi launches new variant of the Redmi 2A smartphone

Xiaomi has just released a slightly upgraded version of the Redmi 2A smartphone that was originally revealed back in March. While the display, processor, camera etc are unchanged, the company has bumped up the storage to 16GB and the RAM space to 2GB, letting users get a lot more out of the box.

As the Redmi 2A is limited to China, this model too will only be sold in the region, at least for the foreseeable future. The Redmi 2A is pretty identical to the Redmi 2 in terms of appearance and even hardware specifications.

The only difference is the processor used, which in case of the Redmi 2A is the Leadcore L1860C while the Redmi 2 uses the more mainstream Snapdragon 410.
