Xiaomi India Managing Director top boss Manu Kumar Jain spent some time catching up with his IIT super-senior Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday. And going by his LinkedIn and Twitter updates, the Xiaomi Vice President had an enriching experience.

The 37-year-old Jain, who had called on the Delhi Chief Minister at his office, also gifted him a Made-in-India Redmi Note 5 with a Printed Circuit Board Assembly.

The politician, who graduated from IIT Kharagpur in 1989, is a senior to the Xiaomi head who passed out from IIT Delhi in 2003.

Clearly, Jain seems to be impressed by the 49-year-old Kerjiwal. Posting an update on LinkedIn, the Xiaomi India top boss wrote: "Leadership is not about a position or title that you hold. It is about setting an example with your actions!. Great meeting the man himself who has been following the same."

Jain also shared the journey of Xiaomi India with the politician.

Only time will tell if Jain got some encouragement from his senior to consider an innings in politics.

Leaving A Mark: Women Who Inspire BK Goenka, Manu Kumar Jain

BK Goenka, Chairman, Welspun Group

“I take a lot of inspiration from Indra Nooyi, CEO of PepsiCo. She is an accomplished business leader who describes herself as an ordinary woman born in a conservative and middle-class family. Being a woman and immigrant made it thrice as difficult for Nooyi to reach this position. But her mantra of working twice as hard as her male counterparts has set her apart. Her rise to power has lit up a fire in every aspirant and proves that nothing is impossible if you are determined.”

“The woman I admire a lot is Kiran Bedi, India’s first and highest woman ranking IPS officer. She set high precedents for justice and humanitarian services. I met her for the first time when I was studying at IIT, where she came to deliver a guest lecture. I spent a few hours with her and took her autograph. I was impressed by her outlook and approach towards life. She accentuates my faith in working through hardships and creating a mark for yourself in the world.”

“I relate to the journey of Mamta Kharab, the former captain of the Indian women’s hockey team. I also draw motivation from it. She was declared the best player of the Junior Asia Cup tournament in Malaysia where India won the bronze medal. She played a leading role in India’s victory in the Commonwealth Games in Manchester in 2002, India’s first in 32 years. She scored the golden goal in the final against England.”

Her leadership skills, compassion and foresight have always inspired me to become a better leader and influenced my thinking to a great extent.”

“As a child, I had read about the life and work of Marie Curie, the Polish-French scientist who coined the term radioactivity, and discovered radium. Her list of achievements is long, and so is the list of almost endless adversities that she had to overcome because she was a woman and born into a poor family. I learnt dedication from her. Winning two Nobel prizes, helping out the wounded in World War I, and naming the element she discovered in honour of her country [Polonium] — what a life. She lived and died doing what she loved. She was driven by a sense of achievement and love for scientific discovery, not by fame or money.”
