Xiaomi 13 to be launched as Xiaomi 14? Alleged retail box sparks rumours ahead of launch

The Chinese Android smartphone brand, Xiaomi has been known for its devices that offer innovative designs and top-of-the-line specifications. The brand has already made its presence felt in the global arena with its existing line of flagship and affordable smartphones.
Even as Xiaomi 11 and 12 series continue to be among the popular smartphones of 2022, the brand is gearing up for the launch of its next-generation smartphones - the Xiaomi 13 series. However, even before the launch, the internet has been buzzing with numerous leaks and rumours about the forthcoming device.
According to recent reports, the Xiaomi 13 device may be introduced as Xiaomi 14. The development has been reported based on the images of retail box packaging that have been making the rounds on the Internet. Reportedly, the pictures were posted on the Chinese social media website, Weibo. The images also showed some crucial information related to the model.
The new Xiaomi device which is expected to be launched in China soon will likely sport the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The Chinese smartphone company has not commented on the name being circulated in the media. However, experts believe that the new devices will be called Xiaomi 13 in continuation with the existing Xiaomi 11 and Xiaomi 12.
Meanwhile, some reports published earlier this week have claimed that the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro are currently undergoing internal testing. Reportedly, the Chinese smartphone company is likely to introduce the device globally sometime in 2023. According to reports, the Xiaomi 13 was recently spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website. The standard and the Pro model are expected to come with a punch-hole cutout in the centre and a triple rear camera module.
Some of the reports have also claimed that the new Xiaomi 13 Pro may come with a 6.7-inch Samsung E6 AMOLED LTPO display with 2K resolution. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 13 is expected to feature a 6.2-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. One of the devices is also expected to come with a 67W fast charger.
