Indian racers, Armaan Ebrahim and Aditya Patel, have come up with a new concept for motor racing in India. In Mumbai last week, the duo launched a six team franchise based league which will happen from November 30th.

The Buddh International Circuit in Noida and MMRT in Chennai will host the league. Owners of the team include, Former F1 racer Narain Karthikeyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Tahnoon Bin Saeed Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan.

Speaking to ET Panache, Armaan Ebrahim said, "X1 is extreme, it's extraordinary. It is everything extra that is out there. What we are trying is so unique, that the X-factor will always be there with it. It gives us the opportunity to grow and create a ladder system to go ahead. Our Indian racing drivers have got into F1 like Narain and there are those on the cusp of getting in like Jehan (Daruvala). The Indian talent of drivers who have not managed to go abroad."

The fastest Indian racer is owner of the Chennai team in the league. Sharing how Karthikeyan came on board to become a team owner, Ebraim said, "I have known Narain Karthikeyan all my life. I have raced against him and watched him drive all through my career. In terms of the professional world having someone like him gives good validation. He sees this as a business. It is someone for the young he can look up to. He is also someone that we can bounce ideas off, too."

While the Buddh Circuit is not hosting Formula One races, getting the track was tough. Ebrahim explained, "The Buddh circuit is booked 200 days a year. It is not lying there. It is very active but not active with Formula One. There is domestic racing, national racing championships that are run there. Also there are corporate events and manufacturer events that happen there. It is a busy place. It is our A grade racing track so we will go there. We will also go to MMRT in Chennai."

With many fans watching the F1, Patel and Ebrahim are hoping the love for motor racing will extend to X1 as well.
