A trip to Disneyland is often described as magical, but for one dad, the magic came with a jaw-dropping bill. What was supposed to be a wholesome breakfast with his kids turned into an online sensation after he claimed to have spent nearly $900 (₹80,000 approx) on a single meal. His post on X (formerly Twitter) didn’t just go viral—it left the internet divided.

The man, who goes by John on the platform, shared a photo of the bill from the popular “Princess Breakfast” experience at Disneyland. The receipt totalled $937, including a $150 tip. John later clarified that the breakfast was for five people, but the total still stunned many. In his caption, he jokingly admitted the sticker shock nearly made him spit out his coffee.

Netizens react

His honesty struck a chord, and soon enough, netizens were weighing in. Some believed the outrage was misplaced, saying the high prices are disclosed during booking and shouldn't come as a surprise. Others took issue with the $150 (Rs 13,000 approx) tip, arguing that tipping norms have become excessive. A few praised him for being a thoughtful dad, willing to go the extra mile for his children. One user pointed out that reservations for the Princess Breakfast at Disneyland's Grand Californian Hotel are tough to get, and clearly state their per-person pricing.

John responded to questions by saying the experience was fun overall—the food was decent, the service enthusiastic, and the princesses interacted warmly with the kids. Though he hadn’t known the exact price in advance, he noted he would have booked it regardless.
