World Environment Day: Bengaluru women promote green menstruation, through their road trip
On an average, a woman uses 12,000 to 16,000 pads in her lifetime which leads to a lot of disposable cotton.

Also, conventional disposal products contain plastic along with artificial fragrances that is harmful to the environment. Added to it is the harm from manufacturing, shipping and packaging.

Three women, Smitha, Anjali and Suma, this World Environment Day, are creating awareness about greener options for menstruation such as the menstruation cup or the cloth pad, through a road trip from Bengaluru to Goa, as part of the TimesWomensDrive 2018.

In order to create awareness on the issue, they are crowdfunding their effort and looking for support from fellow Bangaloreans to buy samples of menstruation cups and cloth pads that they can distribute through the villages.
