Woodland boss's garage boasts of top car brands, calls Land Rover his favourite drive

Harkirat Singh, MD of Woodland, is envious of Cristiano Ronaldo’s cars, and calls the Batmobile his ultimate fantasy.
From father to son
“I love to talk about cars with my dad as he’s also a car lover. He gifted me my first car — a Mercedes W463 G-Class — on one vacation when I had come home from college. I cherish those long drives I used to take in that car to Chandigarh with my family. I also did a few trips to Manali with college friends and some solo sojourns to Ladakh. Your first car is always special, but since this was a gift from my dad, it was extra special. I don’t have it right now with me in Delhi, but I’m still emotionally attached to it.”
In my garage
“I have a Jaguar XJ, a Land Rover Discovery, an Audi Q7 and a BMWX6, but my favourite is the Land Rover, since it is the most versatile SUV. It is a family vehicle — very comfortable and spacious and ideal for long drives.”
If I had to name my car…
“I’d call it ‘Companion’, because I’d like to explore more. My most memorable drive so far was from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. It was full of adventure and fun. The hills made it very exciting, and it was also a really pleasant journey down South.”
“Your car should look clean at all times and should be used regularly. Also, one should associate with car clubs as they can be great resources for technical advice and leads on where to find rare parts.”
For a big award ceremony I would arrive in…
“A Rolls-Royce Sweptail as it’s the most stylish luxury car made in the UK by Rolls-Royce Holdings plc.”

“Cristiano Ronaldo. I would love to own his Bugatti Veyron, Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4, Bentley GT Speed, Aston Martin DB9, Ferrari (599 GTO, 599 GTB Fiorano, F430), and few others.”
Favourite car chase
“A scene from the 2011 French film 'The Intouchables'. The film opens with Driss (Omar Sy) driving Philippe’s (Francois Cluzet) Maserati Quattroporte at high speed through the streets of Paris. They are chased by the police and are eventually cornered when Driss claims the quadriplegic Philippe must be urgently driven to the emergency room. Philippe pretends to have a seizure and fools the cops.”
