Wonderchef MD Ravi Saxena doesn’t Zoom without his latest Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air King.
Wonderchef Co-founder and MD, Ravi Saxena has meetings from 10 am right through till 7 pm everyday. "My comfort outfit is Tommy or Benetton cotton T-shirt and cargo pants. I have my meetings at three levels – they start at the ground floor, move to the cooler study in mid-afternoon and finish usually at the terrace. Cargos are super-practical as they just help me carry all the stuff I require – the phones and phone-stand, the ear pods, the masks, the pens and diary, and some gum," he says.
Wear wise An impromptu call for Saxena is usually with someone who can’t be kept waiting – a journalist or a news channel. "The hack is to wear one of the pressed shirts I keep ready in hangers for the purpose, a rarity otherwise in these times. Strategy meetings are usually in casuals – M&S linen half sleeves worn with jeans. Pitch is made in formal shirt and jeans. Zoom with friends for drinks are special occasions, well planned and structured. Standing joke is we would dress very formally for these ones, like for a high-class evening, so as not to miss what we are missing otherwise. So the men appear as penguins in all kinds of coats and tails, even bow ties, and the ladies wear evening gowns or saree," he says.
Brand bargain Hanro has been Saxena's favourite since early 2000’s when he spent some time in Geneva. "I pick up a few pieces every time I travel to Europe. The collection has come to immense use in these times of work from home. I just love the quality, the fabrics, the easy comfort and the understated colours," he says.
Indulgence exploits One thing Saxena doesn’t Zoom without is his latest Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air King, that he invested in during the lockdown. "It’s just that subtle touch of luxury, one of those good things of life that I want to hold on to, while everything around seems to be going through such a challenging phase. Guilty as charged, indeed," he says.
Wardrobe wear Saxena has always been fond of wearing formal suits with cufflinked shirts. "This is something I think of wistfully, as this has defined my style and my career progression over the last two decades. We have developed our own copper-coated masks in brand Wonderchef. I always use these as copper is a natural virucidal and destroys the germs that may fall on it," he says.
A set of H&M Tee’s that were gifted to him have stayed his favourite in these long meetings everyday. "They are cool and comfortable, and remind me of the good wishes of the person who gifted them with so much caring," he ends.

Princess Di's Style In 'The Crown', Suits From 'Peaky Blinders': Every Time Netflix & Amazon Prime Shows Influenced A Fashion Trend
1/9
In the absence of red carpets and ramp shows, we are taking style inspirations from over-the-top media services, says Sujata Assomull, fashion journalist and editor. Author of 100 Iconic Bollywood Costumes, Assomull says reel life has always played a huge role in setting trends. “Clothes are what make some of the shows bingeworthy,” she says.
For designers, too, it’s a platform to get noticed. Hemant Sagar, cofounder of Lecoanet Hemant, says,“OTT platforms are a great way for introducing young audiences to heritage fashion.”
Case in point: Shanaya Kapoor’s appearance in Lecoanet Hemant Couture in the Netflix show 'Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives' was noticed. Stylist Rishi Raj says it is a natural progression for the audience in terms of fashion consumption — from Bollywood to K soaps to OTT. And it goes beyond trends, he says, “These viewers have a lot of opinions to share and platforms to share it on. Now fashion is being looked at, discussed, given an opinion on.”
Here are shows that have set trends for quite some time to come.
