Woman Walks Out of New Job in Just 10 Minutes
A woman who spent months tirelessly searching for a job finally landed one—only to walk out within ten minutes. The 32-year-old, who had applied to countless positions, quit her new childcare role almost immediately, citing the overwhelming nature of the job. Sophie Ward, a UK expat in Australia, revealed that despite her long and frustrating job hunt, she realized instantly that working in a childcare centre wasn’t for her.

“I left because I’d never done children before, and I was in a room with 10 screaming babies, and I just couldn’t do it,” she told news.com.au. Her abrupt exit was so rushed that she even left behind her packed meal, which, she admitted, left her “fuming.”

Mixed Reactions From Public

Ward’s swift departure left many people puzzled, with some questioning what could have been so unbearable in such a short time. One person asked, “What was so horrible in 10 minutes?” Meanwhile, others sympathized, pointing out that childcare is “not for the faint-hearted.”

Before trying her hand at childcare, Ward had faced repeated rejections while job hunting. She had applied to numerous grocery stores and retail outlets, only to be turned down or completely ignored.

“I even went for an interview the other day, and they asked me to text them my schedule for a trial, and they never got back to me,” she said, sharing her frustration about being “ghosted” by potential employers.

Finding the Right Fit

After struggling to secure a job, Ward had hoped childcare might be an option. However, her rapid exit made it clear that it wasn’t the right match. Despite her desperation to find employment, she stressed that she wasn’t willing to accept just anything.
