With 7 cameras & 24mp feature, iPhone 15 makes photography superlative experience

The cameras of the iPhone are always a big talking point, and the iPhone 15 series is no different. Apple has beefed up the camera specs — for both the Pro and vanilla models — and brings significant upgrades compared to its previous offerings.

Almost ‘Pro’ Cameras

The primary camera in the iPhone 15 is now 48MP, the same as the iPhone 14 Pro models. There’s no third camera but the telephoto lens can click in 2x and doesn’t compromise on picture quality either. Apple has also introduced a new mode where users can click with a 24MP option, which helps reduce image size and bumps up the quality as well. The images are certainly better and brighter compared to the iPhone 14.

Seven Cameras In One

Apple is pitching the iPhone 15 Pro Max as a camera with seven lenses in your pocket. There’s a macro lens, an ultra-wide lens (13mm), 24mm, 28mm, 35mm and the telephoto camera with 5X zoom (120mm). The 5X optical zoom was a much-needed upgrade but Apple still trails the likes of Samsung (which offers up to 30mm). All these lenses combine to deliver quite a versatile — and consistently good — camera experience.


Also, if you think that it’s complicated to shift between these lenses, that’s not the case; the whole camera app experience is extremely smooth. The blend of hardware and software is done right and works really well. However, the iPhone 15 Pro doesn’t get the 5X optical zoom and is restricted to 3x — same as the iPhone 14 Pro models.

Portraits Get Smarter

Another cool feature of the new iPhone 15 cameras is how you can get bokeh mode in any image. You don’t even have to use the mode for clicking the pic. You can take any photo and later add the bokeh effect as per your need. Apple has also improved the SmartHDR feature; the iPhone 15 does a fine job clicking images when the lighting is uneven.
