Will Hrithik Roshan star in Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2? ‘War’ star had actually worked with superstar long before his debut, Kaho Na Pyaar Hai: ‘He took the blame…’

Fans can’t wait to see Hrithik Roshan in Rajinikanth’s upcoming action comedy Jailer 2. The trailer of the much-anticipated movie was released on Monday, and eagle-eyed fans were quick to observe a mysterious silhouette which they claimed looked like the superstar. The actor is said to have a brief cameo in the movie, although the filmmakers have yet to officially confirm or disclose details about his role.

The rumours sparked considerable discussion on social media, with some fans convinced that the mystery appearance belonged to Hrithik Roshan, while others questioned the claim. The uncertainty was eventually addressed by his body double and stunt performer Mansoor Ali Khan, who appeared to settle the speculation through an Instagram Story.

In the post shared by Mansoor Khan, it is evident that the silhouette in the picture does match the one in the trailer perfectly, and the Kaho Na Pyaar Hai’ star will indeed be featuring in the film. Rajinikanth is set to reprise his role as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, with director Nelson bringing together an expanded ensemble featuring Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Jackie Shroff, S. J. Suryah and Vidya Balan. Produced by Sun Pictures, the film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on October 15, while Anirudh Ravichander is handling the music.

Jailer narrated the story of "Tiger" Muthuvel Pandian, a retired jailor, whose son ACP Arjun goes missing while investigating the case of Varman, a gangster. Muthuvel goes on a mission to find his son and trace the gangster.

Hrithik Has Worked With Rajinikanth Before!

This is incidentally not the first time; Hrithik has worked with Rajinikanth. Long before stardom, Hrithik worked as a child actor in the 1986 action drama Bhagwaan Dada, which starred Rajinikanth and Sridevi in lead roles. Hrithik’s performance as Govinda, Bhagwaan Dada’s adopted son, was much appreciated.

In the documentary The Roshans, Hrithik opened up on sharing screen space with the icon and revealed the superstar was very generous and considerate with him and never left him feeling uncomfortable or less than on the sets of Bhagwaan Dada.

“He was quite gentle and generous. When I messed up a shot, Rajni sir used to take the blame so that I would not get conscious as a child. At that time I did not know I was working with a legend. For me, he was Rajini uncle,” he said.
