Wi-Fi is not an exact science but there are a few rules to create a better network at home.

We found WiFiMan (by Ubiquity Networks) a great tool to help you in this endeavour.

One of the things it can help you do is locate a less crowded channel for your Wi-Fi router.

Once you switch your router to a less crowded channel, you will automatically get lesser interference and faster throughput.

You can use it to relocate your router to a better place (because it shows you the quality of your connection).

It can also list all the devices connected to your current network. Don’t recognise some of the devices? It may be time to switch passwords.

Finally, there’s a network speed-test tool built in.

Speed test results are stored for later comparison and you can share them too.

The app interface is very clean and logically laid out. We also liked that the app is completely free and there are no ads or in-app purchases.
