Actress Somy Ali recently posted a heartfelt message on Instagram about veteran actor Raj Kiran, who starred in notable films like 'Karz' and 'Arth' before mysteriously disappearing decades ago. In 2011, the late actor Rishi Kapoor and actress Deepti Naval reportedly located Raj Kiran in a mental health facility in Atlanta. However, these claims were later proven false. Now, Somy Ali has revealed a promise she made to Rishi Kapoor: she will never stop searching for Raj Kiran. Sharing a montage of Raj Kiran from his early acting days, she announced a financial reward for anyone with credible information, warning against fraud or scams.
Somy emphasized her dedication, calling on her social media followers for help. "If anyone knows where he is, please message me," she urged. "We just want to make sure he's okay and offer any help he may need. As a victim advocate running my organization for 17 years, my instincts tell me he needs us. I made a promise, and I intend to keep it."
Ali also added, "I made a promise to the late Mr. Rishi Kapoor that I will make sure that I will never stop looking for the actor, Raj Kiran. I have spent 20 years trying to find him which included flying to various States paying my own money and at times borrowing it from my mom. So Chintu ji (Rishi Kapoor) can rest in peace and I will have fulfilled my promise. Chintuji and another actress tried to locate him as well, but couldn't do so.”
In her post, Somy also provided a brief biography of Raj Kiran, noting that he was born on February 5, 1949, in Bombay to a Sindhi family. He made his acting debut in BR 'Ishara's Kaagaz Ki Nao' (1975) and appeared in over 100 films until the mid-1990s. He then vanished from the industry, with conflicting reports from 2011 suggesting that his whereabouts remain unknown.
