Megyn Kelly heavily criticized Olivia Rodrigo because the singer spoke in support of Jane Doe. Jane Doe, a former Cornell student (identified anonymously), filed a civil lawsuit because she was drugged and sexually assaulted by seven men at the Chi Phi fraternity house.

Rodrigo shared a statement on her Instagram Story on Sunday. She said she stood with Doe and called for accountability over the allegations against seven former Cornell students.

Rodrigo wrote, “Shame on Cornell and on every institution who protects rapists and abusers over women.” She added, “I stand with Jane Doe. Her bravery reverberates across the country and the crimes against her will not go unpunished.” Rodrigo also said Doe’s experience mattered. She wrote that Doe deserved “answers, consequences, and lasting change.”

Why Olivia Rodrigo spoke out

Rodrigo’s comments came as the Cornell 7 case continued to draw national attention. Jane Doe, whose identity has not been made public, sued Cornell University and seven former Chi Phi fraternity members. She alleges that she was given alcohol and drugs before being sexually assaulted at a fraternity house in October 2024.

The men named in the lawsuit have denied wrongdoing. None have been criminally charged, according to the New York Post. Cornell has also agreed to an independent review of how it handled Doe’s report.
