Why Karl Lagerfeld stacks books horizontally
Legendary couturier Karl Lagerfeld has several passions outside fashion like reading. The eccentric French designer's private library is massive (rumoured to be between 60,000 and 230,000 books). The library is stacked from the floor to the ceiling. But where most libraries stack books vertically, Lagerfeld stacks them horizontally.

The reason ? Lagerfeld doesn't like tilting his head to read the titles. Pulling a book out of one of the largest private collections in the world may require ef fort, but that's the Lagerfeld way of life.
