Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, widely known for his charitable efforts, has once again captured public attention with a unique act of kindness. The actor recently revealed on social media that he, along with his team and the Anjaneya Seva Trust, successfully fed over 1,250 monkeys in the holy city of Ayodhya.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Akshay drew attention to the growing population of monkeys in Ayodhya and the challenges it poses to the local community. A video accompanying the post showcased monkeys wandering around the temple premises and nearby areas, highlighting the need for organized care and feeding.

Partnering with the Anjaneya Seva Trust, the actor launched an initiative to provide clean and nutritious food to monkeys in Ayodhya on a daily basis. The project prioritizes safety and hygiene, ensuring that the feeding process is conducted responsibly. In the video, a van filled with bananas was seen as part of the operation, with Akshay emphasizing the importance of sustainability.


To pay tribute to his parents and his late father-in-law, legendary actor Rajesh Khanna, Akshay had their names inscribed on the feeding van. This gesture added a personal touch to the noble endeavour. Additionally, the initiative includes a unique waste management system: banana peels discarded by the monkeys are collected and fed to cows. The cow dung is then repurposed as manure to cultivate banana trees, creating an eco-friendly cycle. The actor referred to this project as a "small effort" in his Instagram post, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to the welfare of Ayodhya's monkeys.

Earlier this year, Akshay made headlines when he donated Rs 1 crore to support monkey-feeding initiatives in Ayodhya, ahead of Diwali. His efforts aim to address both the welfare of animals and the concerns of locals who face challenges from the rising monkey population in the region.

This initiative is led by the Anjaneya Seva Trust under the guidance of Jagatguru Swami Raghavacharya Ji Maharaj. Priya Gupta, the founder-trustee of the trust, assured that the project is designed to ensure minimal inconvenience to the residents of Ayodhya while promoting a harmonious coexistence with the local wildlife.
