Why Doof Warrior is making headlines
Doof what?

You obviously haven’t watched Mad Max: Fury Road.

I have, but then shouldn’t we be talking about Furiosa?

I know you are a great Charlize Theron fan, but for me, the Doof Warrior is the real star.

No, not even Tom Hardy.

Ok, if you insist…

Oh yes. The Doof Warrior is the masked, jump suit wearing chap who has flames spitting out of his guitar.

Oh yeah! I remember. He and his drummers cheer lead the villain’s goon squad.

Yep, Immortan Joe’s army of baddies. He’s become a sort of cult hero.

Coming to think of it, he was awesome.

Indeed. WHo is the chap playing the character?

iOTA aka Sean Hape, an Australian actor-musician.

Cool. But how did Miller (George Miller, DIRECTOR) zero in on him?

Apparently, iOTA has a thing for such roles. He played the crazy orchestra leader in The Great Gatsby.

I remember. And he accepted this role on a whim?

Turns out he’s a huge fan of the earlier Mad Max trilogy. Plus his management company pitched the role to him as a mix between Keith Richards and a scarecrow.

No doubt, Richards and a scarecrow would have approved of his act.

Absolutely.
