Britain's Secret Intelligence Service, or MI6 (Military Intelligence, Section 6) has launched a recruiting campaign. And quite surprisingly it said that James Bond would not make the grade in real life.

WHAT ARE YOU SAYING?

Well, the Service is focusing on the "human side" of working at MI6, and Bond would not make the cut due to his serious character flaws.

WHAT CHARACTER FLAWS?

An Intelligence source said that the service 007 represents is not the modern reality. A welltrained assassin he may be, but these days, MI6 is looking for spies with sensitivity too. Bond lacks "emotional intelligence".

SENSITIVE SPIES? HARD TO IMAGINE!

Why not? The job is perhaps presumed to be more about IQ than emotional intelligence, which isn't necessarily the case.

MI6 is keen to stress that the job requires working closely with fellow team members as well as with foreign contacts.

BUT BOND CAN SEND THE ATTACKERS PACKING IN STYLE.

The suave personality isn't helping him win any points. MI6 said that being a determined loner like Bond doesn't actually make for a good spy. Teamwork is central to MI6's ability to deliver intelligence, and heroes working alone rarely achieve much.

WHAT IS MI6 EXACTLY LOOKING FOR THEN?

The recruitment drive is aimed at hiring from the working classes and a high degree of emotional intelligence is every bit as important as educational attainment.

MAN! THEN BOND WON'T BE ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE IN REALITY?

Yeah, especially after Daniel Craig, who plays 007 in the current Bond films, described him as a "lonely misogynist".
