Veteran actor Sudhir Dalvi, 86, remembered for his iconic performance as Sai Baba in the 1977 classic Shirdi Ke Sai Baba, is now recuperating at home following a prolonged health crisis. His wife Suhas has now shared a statement stating that Bollywood celebrities like Kartik Aaryan, Akshay Kumar and Ranbir Kapoor extended financial support to her ailing husband, while other Sai devotees also came forward to extend their assistance. The selfless gestures made her believe that kindness still exists in the world.

Sudhir Dalvi’s health improves after setback

For the unversed, Sudhir Dalvi was hospitalised at Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital on October 7, 2025. He developed sepsis, a serious condition triggered by an infection spreading through the bloodstream. Sudhir’s extended hospital stay reportedly left him with severe joint complications and restricted movement in his arms and legs.

Sudhir required ICU care, while his medical expenses climbed to nearly Rs 19 lakh, as per NDTV. The Bombay High Court also granted the Shree Saibaba Sansthan Trust to provide Rs 11 lakh towards Sudhir Dalvi’s medical treatment. In her statement, the veteran actor’s wife revealed that Sudhir’s condition has improved and he can now walk with the help of a walker, as quoted by Bollyspice.

Wife says prayers matter more now

Suhas claimed that although her husband’s mind is a bit ‘disoriented’, he is happy being at home. She even expressed her gratitude to the film fraternity as well as others who helped her family in the challenging time and restored her faith in people’s compassion and generosity.

With Sudhir’s family having received sufficient financial assistance for the actor’s treatment, Suhas clarified that they are no longer seeking monetary help. Instead, she has urged those who care for Sudhir to keep him in their prayers as he continues his recovery. She also requested the film association, providing the family with monthly financial aid, to redirect those funds towards someone who may be in greater need.

Final takeaway

According to Suhas, Sudhir has received the medical care required at this stage, and prayers are now more important for his recovery. His progress remains slow, while she continues to care for him at home despite dealing with her own health challenges and advancing age.
