Rapper Rick Ross was arrested in Miami Beach on Thursday and charged with battery after a woman he was living with told the police he hit her, as per a report by The Hollywood Reporter. Ross has been charged with battery by strangulation as well as misdemeanour, as per court records. The Hustlin hitmaker was released from jail on a $5,000 cash bond later. The woman alleged that Ross had an altercation with her, accused her of infidelity, and proceeded to hit her several times, attempted to choke her, and slammed her into the wall. She managed to escape.

This comes days after model Jazzma Kendrick accused the rapper of physical abuse. On September 26, the 39-year-old, who once dated the rapper, left her with a busted lip, after which she left him. She shared pictures of her injured mouth after an Instagram user sent her a DM to her, praising her gorgeous selfie and commenting, “I am seeing what Rick is seeing,” to which the model quipped, “He saw a punching bag.”

Later, sharing the pictures of her injuries on Instagram Stories, she said, "I don’t know a lot of things, but I do know that a man that puts his hands on me is a man that never loved me and never will.”


The model then urged fans to end a relationship if the partner becomes abusive, as someone who has hit a spouse won’t hesitate to do so again. “It’s always good until it isn’t. If a man hits you one time, he will do it again. Don’t give him the opportunity. Value your life and leave,” she said.

She didn’t specify when the abuse took place.

According to a PEOPLE report, Kendrick and Ross were first publicly linked in August 2025, when they were spotted together at a Florida launch event celebrating RR22, the rapper’s luxury handbags and accessories line. According to Complex, their relationship was reportedly on and off, with Kendrick confirming publicly in September 2025 that the pair had gone their separate ways.

The two later rekindled their romance and made their first red carpet appearance together at the 2026 BET Awards in June. They were subsequently seen together at several other public events.

Their most recent public appearance as a couple was in August, when they were photographed together at an event.

Ross became a household name with the 2006 debut single Hustlin. It became a chartbuster and was certified platinum twice by the Recording Industry Association of America. His debut album, Port of Miami, also gained the coveted No. 1 position on the Billboard 200 chart. He released other chartbusters in the late 2000s, such as Deeper Than Rap and Trilla.
