Actress Urmila Matondkar’s ex-husband Mohsin Akhtar has found love for the second time. The businessman and model from Kashmir has tied the knot with Nidhaa Bhatt. On Sunday, June 14, Mohsin shared the announcement by dropping a slew of pictures from his wedding ceremony on Instagram. He also penned a heartfelt note in the caption, expressing his gratitude to the divine for showering his life with an abundance of love. For the unversed, Urmila and Mohsin parted ways in 2024.

The pictures capture Mohsin Akhtar and Nidhaa Bhatt dressed in their nuptial outfits. Mohsin picked out a cream-white, floral-embroidered traditional suit. Nidhaa complemented her husband in an off-white sharara set, adorned with intricate golden embellishments. She tied her wedding look together with a sheer veil and heavy jewellery.


One of the snaps reveals Mohsin Akhtar getting down on one knee and putting a ring on his wife's finger. Nidhaa Bhatt, on the other hand, smiles ear-to-ear, gushing at the sweet gesture. In another slide, the newlyweds pose side by side, laughing joyfully. An assortment of treats and a delicious wedding cake can be seen on the table in front of them. The next couple of photos showcase Mohsin and Nidhaa partaking in the official marriage rituals.

Sharing the post on Instagram, Mohsin Akhtar reflected on the importance of pure intentions, honest love, patience and gratitude. He expressed his belief that healing, faith and trust in the divine plan had guided him through life’s journey. He admitted to feeling blessed to have found love again in Nidhaa Bhatt, whose sincerity and presence had brought light into his life, conveying his heartfelt gratitude to his wife for her love and support.

Who is Mohsin Akhtar

Before making a name for himself in the business world, Mohsin Akhtar pursued a career in modelling and acting. According to a report by The Indian Express, he moved to Mumbai at 21, becoming the second runner-up in the Mr. India pageant in 2007. Mohsin received his first commercial break opposite Preity Zinta. 2 years later, in 2009, he also debuted in the film It’s A Man’s World before appearing in a small role in Farhan Akhtar-led thriller drama Luck By Chance.

Although Mohsin Akhtar could not make it big in Bollywood, he achieved success in the Kashmiri embroidery department. This work is associated with acclaimed fashion designer Manish Malhotra’s label. In fact, Mohsin and Urmila Matondkar, who share a 10-year age gap, reportedly met each other at Manish’s niece’s wedding in 2014. The designer was also present at Mohsin and Urmila’s 2016 wedding. However, trouble in their marriage blossomed in 2024 eventually leading to the divorce.
