Who is Isha Rikhi? Rapper Badshah confirms separation from wife after five months of marriage, shares joint statement

Rapper Badshah and Punjabi actress Isha Rikhi have separated five months after their marriage. The couple confirmed the news through a joint statement shared on Instagram Stories, bringing an end to weeks of speculation about their relationship.

In the statement shared on Instagram handle, Badshah said that he and Isha had mutually decided to go their separate ways. He stressed that the decision was made with respect for each other and asked people to give them privacy during this period.

The couple also made it clear that, "This will be our only statement on the matter. We sincerely request that there be no further speculation or assumptions regarding our relationship."

Badshah and Isha Rikhi's relationship

Badshah and Isha reportedly got married in March 2026 in a private ceremony attended by close family and friends, as reported by IANS. The wedding was kept away from the spotlight, although pictures from the ceremony later surfaced online.

Badshah and Isha Rikhi had reportedly been in a relationship for around four years before getting married. The two were said to have met through mutual friends at a party and gradually developed a relationship.

Unlike many celebrity couples, the duo largely kept their personal lives private. Their relationship only came into wider public attention after reports about their marriage began circulating.

The couple's wedding was also kept low-key. Isha's mother, Poonam Rikhi, later shared pictures from the ceremony on social media. In the photographs, Badshah and Isha were seen wearing traditional outfits and taking part in wedding rituals with their families.

Their marriage, however, lasted only around five months. Their separation announcement comes amid reports that Isha could be considered as one of the contestants for Bigg Boss 20, which is set to be hosted by Salman Khan.

While speculation about their relationship had been circulating for some time, the couple chose to address the matter together rather than respond to individual reports.

Who is Isha Rikhi?

Isha Rikhi is a Punjabi actress who began her career in modelling before moving into films. According to Brut, she started modelling while she was in Class 12 and later worked briefly with an event management company before taking up modelling as a full-time profession.

She eventually made her way into acting and became known for her work in Punjabi cinema. Isha made her acting debut at the age of 20 with Jatt Boys Putt Jattan De, in which she appeared alongside Sippy Gill.

Before her acting debut, she reportedly had a guest appearance in the 2012 Punjabi film Jatt & Juliet. She subsequently appeared in films including Happy Go Lucky and Mere Yaar Kaminey in 2014, followed by What the Jatt!! in 2015.

In 2016, Isha featured in Ardaas, sharing screen space with actors including Gippy Grewal and Ammy Virk. Her work in Punjabi films helped her establish a presence in the regional film industry.

Isha later made her transition to Hindi cinema with Nawabzaade in 2018. Directed by Jayesh Pradhan and produced by Remo D'Souza, the film featured Raghav Juyal, Punit Pathak and Dharmesh Yelande. Isha played the character of Sheetal in the film.

Although she ventured into Bollywood, much of Isha's acting work has remained associated with Punjabi cinema.

Isha has also spoken about her family and early years in the entertainment industry. Reports state that she lost her father, Pradeep Kumar Rikhi, when she was a teenager. Her mother, Poonam Rikhi, had reportedly wanted to become an actor herself and encouraged Isha to pursue opportunities in the entertainment industry.

Isha was initially not very interested in acting, but her early modelling work eventually helped her move towards films.

Meanwhile, Badshah is one of India's best-known rappers and singers. His real name is Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia, and he has built a successful career with popular tracks such as DJ Waley Babu, Genda Phool and Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai.

The rapper was previously married to Jasmine Masih. The two reportedly married in 2012 and separated in 2020. Badshah's marriage to Isha Rikhi was therefore his second marriage.
