Hrehaan Roshan makes his music debut
Hrehaan has officially entered the music scene with This Heavenly Place, an English-language single that introduces him as a singer-songwriter and guitarist. The young musician has taken on more than one role in the project, putting both his vocals and guitar skills on display. The song has been produced by Sudan, with Ankur Tiwari associated with the project as A&R. Instead of going for a grand or heavily produced music video, the team has opted for a stripped-down black-and-white acoustic setting. The minimal presentation keeps attention on Hrehaan and his music.
The release has received plenty of support from his family. Hrithik Roshan shared a glimpse of the music video and wrote about his confidence in his son’s natural instincts. The actor said he trusts the wisdom Hrehaan was born with and that this faith makes him fearless as a father.
Hrehaan’s mother, Sussanne Khan, also celebrated the milestone. She expressed how overwhelmed and emotional she felt while congratulating her son and telling him how much she loves him. Hrithik’s girlfriend and musician-actor Saba Azad also praised the song. She described Hrehaan’s work as beautiful and said she was proud of him.
His grandfather, filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, joined the celebrations as well. He encouraged Hrehaan to keep moving forward and continue reaching for greater heights.
Hrehaan’s younger cousin Pashmina Roshan also congratulated him on the release, adding to the family’s messages of support.
Hrehaan Roshan’s education and musical journey
Although Hrehaan is now making headlines for his music, his interest in the field has been developing for several years. He completed his schooling at the American School of Bombay in Mumbai, graduating in May 2024. Before that, he studied at Dhirubhai Ambani International School. After completing high school, Hrehaan moved to Boston, Massachusetts, to pursue higher education at the prestigious Berklee College of Music. He secured admission with a merit-based scholarship, recognising his musical abilities.
Berklee is known for its programmes in contemporary music and has trained artists and musicians from around the world. For Hrehaan, studying at the institution has given him an opportunity to develop his craft away from the constant attention surrounding his famous family.
His debut as an independent artist now marks another stage in that journey. Rather than immediately stepping into acting like his father, Hrehaan has chosen to establish himself through music.
Hrehaan Roshan carries forward the family’s musical legacy
For the unversed, Music is not new to the Roshan family. Hrehaan’s great-grandfather, Roshan, was a respected composer in Hindi cinema whose work remains associated with some of the most memorable music from his era.His grand-uncle Rajesh Roshan also built a successful career as a film composer. Among his many credits is Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, the 2000 film that launched Hrithik Roshan as a leading actor. The soundtrack became an important part of the film’s success and established Rajesh Roshan’s connection with Hrithik’s early career.
Hrehaan is therefore entering an artistic field that has been part of his family history for generations. However, his musical debut also shows that he is looking to create an identity separate from his father’s acting career.
Born on March 28, 2006, Hrehaan is the elder son of Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan. His younger brother is Hridhaan Roshan. While his parents have remained supportive of their sons’ individual interests, Hrehaan has largely stayed away from the Bollywood spotlight.
With This Heavenly Place, that is beginning to change. At 20, Hrehaan has introduced himself not as the son of a Bollywood superstar, but as a young musician with a growing interest in songwriting, singing and guitar.
