Meghan Markle (L) and Priyanka Chopra (R) seem to share their love of fashion and the tonal-blocking trend is a hit with both.
Nothing like a who wore it better. Throw in two besties, and it’s double the fun. Especially, when it’s the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle pitted against Bollywood’s globetrotting favourite Priyanka Chopra. The two seem to share their love of fashion and the tonal-blocking trend is a hit with both.

At an event this week, Markle showed up dressed in red head to toe. She paired a red top with a luxe leather skirt by Hugo Boss in a similar shade. She seems to have a borrowed a leaf from her own wardrobe, having rocked the same skirt in a bottle green shade, paired with a green top last year.

Having attended the 10th Annual One Young World opening ceremony on Tuesday, The Duchess of Sussex was joined today by The Duke of Sussex for a round table discussion on gender equity with OYW and Queen’s Commonwealth Trust young leaders. Over the last few days, these young leaders became @OneYoungWorld ambassadors with the intention to return to their communities and further existing initiatives to help change the world for the better. This year OYW partnered with the @Queens_Commonwealth_Trust, of which The Duke and Duchess are President and Vice-President respectively, to provide scholarships to young leaders driving positive social impact in the Commonwealth. This was the most exciting collaboration between two groups The Duchess is passionate about and has been working with for some time. Interestingly, around the same time last year, Chopra was spotted wearing a similar outfit on the streets of New York City. Her red power look, comprised of a crepe blouse and leather pencil skirt by Swiss fashion house Akris. The jury’s definitely out on who wore it first, if not who wore it best.

Chopra has been seen favouring the season’s favourite monotone look a lot off late. Recently she was spotted in a black top-black skirt look at a Jonas Brothers concert. Scroll for some more inspiration on this tonal-blocking trend from Markle and Chopra.
