When Sunil Alagh's hot-air ballon trip ended with a crash
There are many things that can go wrong when you are defying gravity in a hot-air balloon. But it is a rare case, like in a recent viral YouTube video, that a rough landing (technically crashing into trees) is the culmination of a pilot showing off for the ladies and losing control.

One of the passengers on that fateful Siem Reap balloon trip was the former MD of Britannia Industries, Sunil Alagh, who later tweeted about it. "I was on this. Was crazy, we were badly injured."

Recounting the incident over the phone, Alagh said, "Angkor Wat was on our bucket list for a while and we (wife Maya and he) both enjoy a hot-air balloon ride." Each ride takes about 10 people divided on two sides - six and four. "The pilot was in the middle and there were a couple of attractive women on board. He was showing off and simultaneously trying to land on a patch with trees," he adds. "As soon as it hit the trees, we all jumped off. The guy who was filming was badly hit," he says. Luckily, Alagh's wife Maya is a doctor and swooped in. "Maya was the saviour for all of us," he says.

Thankfully, the incident has not turned him off adventures. "I will go again, but I will make sure it is not with a Cambodian pilot.".
