Former Pakistani cricket captain Shoaib Malik made headlines last month with the announcement of his second marriage to popular Pakistani actress Sana Javed in Karachi, following his divorce from Indian tennis star Sania Mirza. The cricketer, previously married to Sania with whom he shares a son named Izaan, shared a photograph on social media with his new wife, captioned with the words "And We created you in pairs".
Ever since the news of their separation came out, old video snippets featuring Sania and Shoaib have been circulating online. In one particular clip, Sania humorously queries Shoaib, "Who do you root for when it's Tennis India Vs Pakistan?"
"Naturally, I support my wife. I'm devoted to my country," Shoaib replies with a grin, eliciting laughter from Sania, who jests, "Same answer, don't ask me that question."
Reports of differences between Shoaib and Sania had been circulating since 2022, with the couple rarely seen together in recent years.
