When Raymond Group chairman asked Devendra Fadnavis about delaying legal issues
At a panel discussion at the Maharashtra investment summit, Raymond Group chairman Gautam Singhania had an unusual request for Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. While his peers asked for better infrastructure, creating a skill corridor and focusing on R&D, Singhania queried if the CM could do something about old legal issues that were pending for years. “One specific suggestion: There are a lot of legal issues and, I think, it's more Central than state. But there are so many old issues that are stuck, delaying us from moving for ward. If some sort of system can be worked out or things can move faster then let us work on that,“ he said.

While Singhania was talking in the context of industry, we couldn't help but wonder how it also rang close to home. After all, his father Vijaypat Singhania is locked in a bitter family feud with his grandchildren over property and company stake, while on the other hand, Gautam's brother Madhupati filed an application in court in October 2015 for his father to give up his Juhu home.Singhania obviously knows a thing or two about pending and long drawn legal cases.
