When PV Sindhu and Virat Kohli thanked their mentors on Teacher's Day

Teacher's Day saw several sport stars thanking their mentors, coaches and seniors on social media, including two of India's reigning athletes — PV Sindhu and Virat Kohli.

While Kohli posted an image which had names of legendary cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Kapil Dev, Shane Warne and even Javed Miandad, one name was conspicuous by its absence— Anil Kumble.

And twitterati was quick to point that out. Followers bombarded Kohli's timeline, questioning Kumble's absence. Minutes later came another shot in the arm — Sindhu's tweet.

The Olympian wished her coach Pullela Gopichand with a video of her training schedule.

That was all it took for Kohli's critics to swoop in. "Kohli should learn from her," wrote one user. "Where is Anil Kumble? Too much ego," wrote another. Teaching is a humbling job, it is said. Being a student, perhaps more so.
