Celebrity residences often hog the limelight for their breathtaking architecture, lush interiors, posh locations and whopping costs. From sprawling mansions to luxurious apartments, they own some of the world's most prestigious homes, investing millions. But in the real estate market, owning a luxury home doesn’t always guarantee profit with evolving market conditions, personal decisions and things simply not working out. Marc Anthony experienced a similar fate a few years ago. The Grammy-winning musician’s high-end real estate purchase turned out to be a financial loss.

Marc Anthony sold Miami condo at $2.4 million loss

According to a report by The Wall Street Journal, Marc Anthony sold his luxury Miami condo at One Thousand Museum Tower for $8.6 million. The 8,400-square-foot residence featured 5 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. Anthony bought the 10th-floor unit for $11.5 million in 2021 but failed to make a home out of it.

The building, designed by the late architect Zaha Hadid, is considered to be one of the most iconic residential addresses in downtown Miami. And yet, Anthony had to sell the property within just 6 months of buying it.

The Wall Street Journal reports that the condo was available for rent at $13.7 million initially, but Anthony eventually reduced the listing price to $9.9 million. When that did not work, he ultimately sold it for $8.6 million, enduring a $2.4 million loss. The name of the buyer remains undisclosed.

Salient features of Marc Anthony’s Miami condo

Some of the salient features of the condo include a double-height living room, a private elevator foyer, and an open floor plan. There’s also a large terrace and dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows offering pristine views of Miami, Biscayne Bay, and the Atlantic Ocean.

There’s also a chef's kitchen with custom Italian cabinetry and a breakfast bar. The most standout feature consists of a rooftop helipad, concierge services and a wellness centre, underscoring the property’s sought-after luxury status.
