When Malayalam actress Priya Prakash Varrier's wink video became the most popular meme

One wink and the actress made the social media go into a frenzy with a 28-second clip.

NEW DELHI: One wink and she made the social media go into a frenzy with a 28-second clip from a film song. The rising Malayalam star Priya Prakash Varrier became an overnight sensation with her viral video.

The actress posted a song clip 'Manikya malaraya poovi' from her debut Malayalam movie 'Oru Adaar Love', which shows the romance of school students. Her expressive eyes, innocence and smile in the clip wherein she gets flirty with her co-actor, have done the trick.

The song was launched online on February 9. It garnered almost 10,000,000 views on YouTube till Tuesday evening.


After receiving the love, she posted an Instagram video replicating her much-loved expressions from the video. Immediately after, the 18-year-old actress' Instagram account got a blue tick and her follower-count shot up to 2.5 million followers. She already has a verified Facebook and Twitter page.

Fans also named her the 'expression queen' which further led to multiple online memes.

While one fan called her wink the most popular in Bollywood, some compared her expressions to actress Katrina Kaif.

The actress was trending on Twitter's seventh spot in India for the longest time.


The film, releasing next month, is written and directed by Omar Lulu, and produced by Ousepachan Vaalakuzhy under the banner of Ousepachan Movie House. It stars a bunch of newcomers and has music by Shaan Rahman.
