When Kritika Kamra revealed the real reason behind her breakup with Karan Kundrra: ‘We were together, but he….’
Kritika Kamra has married television presenter Gaurav Kapur in a private ceremony on March 11, 2026. The couple opted for a simple registered marriage followed by a home pooja. This marks a new chapter for Kamra, who previously dated actor Karan K...

Before finding happiness with Gaurav Kapur, Kritika Kamra had been romantically involved with actor Karan Kundrra for several years. Their relationship began around 2009 while they were working together on the popular television drama Kitani Mohabbat Hai, where their on-screen chemistry quickly became a fan favourite. However, the romance that had blossomed during the show eventually came to an end in 2012. Reports at the time suggested that their personal relationship, much like many celebrity romances, experienced its own share of difficulties.
In an earlier conversation with The Times of India during 2011, Kritika had spoken candidly about that period of her life. She explained that there were moments when she felt somewhat overlooked or insufficiently valued in the relationship. While recounting memories from those days, she mentioned a particular incident when Karan pleasantly surprised her during a trip. At that time, she had taken a short holiday to the scenic hills of Kullu Manali along with a group of friends while enjoying a break from her professional commitments.
Despite these experiences, Kritika never blamed Karan Kundrra for the end of their relationship or spoke negatively about him. She maintained that there was no dramatic fallout or intense argument that led to their separation. Instead, several small factors gradually created distance between them. Even though they shared a strong emotional bond and spent a significant amount of time together, discussions about long-term commitments, including marriage, never truly took shape between them.
"There was no fight. Both of us got very busy with our new shows, and this took a toll on our relationship. It is really sad that we couldn't take care of our relationship. There was an emotional attachment; we were together 24/7, but he never proposed to me.." she stated.
As both actors became increasingly busy with new television projects and demanding schedules, maintaining their relationship became more challenging. Over time, the pair realised that they were unable to nurture their bond the way they once had. Rather than ending things on a bitter note, they chose to part ways peacefully and eventually transitioned into a cordial friendship.
