When Kebab Corner's Irshad Qureshi served Pervez Musharraf
The Intercontinental Marine Drive's recently reopened Kebab Corner Mumbai has gone through a makeover. The man behind the revised menu at the 44-year-old eatery is Chef Irshad Qureshi of the Qureshi family — specialists in Indian cuisine, especially Mughlai and Awadhi (from Lucknow).

Qureshi has cooked for heads of states as well as corporate honchos during his career. But the one man who he has fond memories cooking for is the one-time top boss of Pakistan, former president, Pervez Musharraf, in March 2005.

Looking back, he says that he was intimidated by Musharraf's presence in the beginning, Qureshi says that he relied on his cooking to handle his nerves. "It was an honour crafting a meal for Pervez Musharraf," he says. "In the beginning I was intimidated but the meal was enjoyed and that made me feel very happy."

The menu consisted of galouti kebab, kakori kebab, murgh mussalam, dum awadhi biryani and balai ka tukra for dessert.
