When India Inc. came together to help out for a good cause

Giving back is a theme that finds resonance, not just with corporations, but also with its denizens in their private lives. It was with this aim that Sonjoy Chatterjee (Goldman Sachs India CMD) and wife Ameeta identified the cause of providing medical aid to ailing children coming from the fringes of society. And for this, they established Ekam Foundation Mumbai.

They have counted on the help and guidance of leading names from India Inc in their journey. Amit Chandra of Bain Capital was an early supporter and Lalitha Chandrasekaran (wife of Tata Sons Chairman, N Chandrasekaran) is a senior advisor. And through the annual fund raising concert (Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma will perform) to be hosted tomorrow in Mumbai, the foundation hopes to galvanise the community further.

Given the involvement of Chandra's wife, the presence of Tata veterans like R Krishnakumar and S Ramadorai and the newly anointed TCS CEO Rajesh Gopinathan and wife Lekshmi is expected. Ravneet Gill (Deutsche Bank), Sandeep Sikka (Reliance Mutual Fund), Arup Patnaik (former Mumbai police commissioner), Harsh Mariwala (Marico), Urvi Piramal (Ashok Piramal Group), Vishal Kampani (JM Fina ncia l) and Adarsh and Shilpi Jatia (Provenance Land) are also likely to attend.
