Recently, England women's cricket all-rounder Danielle Wyatt got trolled on social media for spelling Virat Kohli's name as 'Kholi'. Here are other name gaffes that created a furore.

1. Failing the spell test

Everything that US President Donald Trump does makes headlines, especially his social media posts. Last month, Trump tweeted in support for Michigan Attorney Bill Schuette and got the spelling of his surname wrong. Trump praised "Shuette" on Twitter, saying he would be a fantastic governor for the State of Michigan. As trolls jumped into action, Trump took down the tweet and posted a new one hours later.

After being confronted for his carelessness, Rodman t ried to blame the printers, but was eventually shown the door.

3. Say who?

British politician Paul Nuttall was widely mocked for addressing Leanne Wood as Natalie twice during a televised de -bate earlier this year. Wood corrected him both times, but later Nuttal l came under he av y criticism for not being able to tell the women apart. Though Nuttall apologised, the gaffe created much furore on social media.

5. The American dream

In 2012, the then Republican candidate Mitt Romney used a mobile app as a part of his campaign strategy. The iPhone app, however, had a basic error. It misspelt America. One of the slogans on the app read 'A Better Amercia'. The internet had a field day over it and the wrong spelling went viral, spawning memes and blogs. Romney and his staff did not make a comment on the gaffe and tried to downplay it.
