When cricketer Amol Muzumdar experienced Mohammad Azharuddin's benevolence
Azhar handed Rs 20,000 or so to the former Mumbai captain after he was felicitated at a Mumbai function in the early 90s.

The former Mumbai captain Amol Muzumdar experienced Azhar's benevolence first hand. As an up and coming cricketer in the early 90s, Muzumdar was among players felicitated at a function in Mumbai. "I was wide eyed looking at all the India cricketers around," Muzumdar said during a panel discussion on Indian cricket at Khar Gymkhana recently.
"Azhar walked up to me, wished me and handed me some money. And he said, 'Kisiko bataana nahi'. I went to a bathroom and counted the amount. It was a good Rs 20,000 or so." Do note that this was pre-matchfixing.
