When Amitav Ghosh lost his bags during a flight
The airline misplaced the author’s two bags during his flight to Mumbai.

Acclaimed author Amitav Ghosh arrived in Mumbai late on Tuesday night, a few kilograms lighter, thanks to the airline he flew. His long day stretched further, with the airline misplacing his two bags.

The author had flown in from Jakarta, Indonesia, with an eight-hour stopover at Abu Dhabi enroute Mumbai. Ghosh is in town for Tata Literature Live. He will be speaking at a few sessions during the festival as well as picking up the trophy for a lifetime achievement award.

Fortunately, experience seems to have prepared the writer of the Ibis trilogy for such eventualities. A change of fresh clothes in his carry-on ensured that he could hit the ground running the next day and make his appointments for interviews and calls.

Hopefully, the luggage has just been delayed, not lost and will make its way to him soon. If not, some retail therapy never hurt anyone.
