WhatsApp update: Soon you will need admin's approval to join group chats
The option to join a group through a sharable link has its own setbacks.

However, the option to invite or join a group through a sharable link also has its own privacy and security setbacks.
While it's flexible, the link could also reach the wrong hands and make you open to security threats. In order to fix that and make the shareable link feature to join WhatsApp groups still flexible and eliminate the security threat alert, the Meta-owned platform will be launching a new feature called 'Admin Approval'.
The new feature will give more power to group admins in regards to who can join the group. The upcoming WhatsApp update's new feature, when enabled, will give group admins the power to accept or deny requests of people who want to join the group chat through a link, according to a report in WABetaInfo.
WhatsApp is currently testing the feature on its beta version. The 'Admin Approval' feature will be soon made public for all Android and iOS users.
How It Works:
You will need to do this for each group admins. Once the update is rolled out, users will find the feature in the group settings labelled as 'group membership approval' and every time the feature is turned on or off, all existing users in the group will receive an alert informing them about the change.
