WhatsApp status updates might soon show up within the chat list
This feature is under development, according to a report.

A report by WABetaInfo said that the company is currently in the planning process and is working to develop this feature in a future update of the app.
This under-development update will replicate the Instagram feature where users have the flexibility to view status updates within the list of their private chats.
Similarly, once the user clicks on the chat cell of the contact, the conversation will open. But if they have shared a status update and the user clicks on the profile picture, the update would show.
Users can also the status update highlighted on the profile picture when searching for a certain contact.

The feature has not yet been rolled out to beta testers, according to the report.
Earlier this week, Mashable reported that WhatsApp is likely working on a feature that would let users chat with the same account on multiple devices.
As per reports, WhatsApp appears to be developing a feature that will allow users to talk with the same account on different phones, or a phone and a tablet. The screen instructs you to register the device you're using as a 'companion' by scanning a code with your primary phone, however, there doesn't appear to be one to scan right now.
It's currently unclear if this feature will be available on iOS, but priorities suggest it would be available.
In November 2021, WhatsApp released Linked Devices as a public beta and has been upgrading the app since then. Although WhatsApp's Linked Devices feature allows users to use their account on a variety of devices already, it currently only supports PCs as secondary devices and is ineffectual for people with additional mobile phones and tablets.
