What's common between Bill Gates and Kiran Nadar? Technology, for one. Gates is the founder of Microsoft and Nadar's husband Shiv is the founder of HCL Technologies. Philanthropy is something else that the Gates and Nadar bond over. Both are committed to giving back to society.

There is a third love too that they share: bridge. Nadar plays the game competitively and is part of a team called Formidables. Gates, too, is known to participate in bridge tournaments and is often spotted playing the game with good friend, Warren Buffett, after the annual Berkshire Hathaway shareholder meeting.

But Nadar and Gates are yet to match their wits in the game.

"I have interacted with Bill Gates off the bridge table over the subject of philanthropy. When I played with him at the same bridge table, it was just two deals. I have no real experience of playing with him," Nadar told ETPanache. Hopefully, soon.
