What makes a video go viral on social media?
ET asks just this one question to YouTube's content head Gautam Anand. He says, "What goes viral depends on the users."

He says:
"What goes viral and doesn't, usually depends not just on the content creator but on the users. Users judge what is good and what is not. Our creators recognise that. So when they do something, they try to make sure that it remains true to their identity, because ultimately, that is what their fans look to them for. That is a balance that monitors itself over a long term."
"If you look at the US, there has been a tremendous amount of acquisition and investment activity by the traditional media in this new system. Media companies are seeing a lot of potential and tapping YouTube stars. They are realising that these names can attract a younger audience because of the powerful connection they have with their fans."
"So, fashion blogger Bethany (Mota), for example, has launched her own clothing line and she was recently on a popular reality show. In India, content creators are collaborating with Bollywood stars whenever their films are released."
