In a chat with NDTV, director Vishal Chaturvedi revealed he hoped Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma would watch the film. “I hope Virat and Anushka will watch the film as well. If something along those lines could be arranged…”

The film, which continues to resonate with audiences across the nation, recently also received praise from cricket icon Virender Sehwag.

Virender Sehwag recently watched Hanuman Ansh with his child and later took to social media to share his reaction to the film. His unexpected support came as a delightful surprise to filmmaker Chaturvedi, particularly because the former Indian cricketer had chosen to watch the movie without any request or invitation from the film’s team.


For Chaturvedi, Sehwag’s response was especially touching because of his longstanding passion for cricket and admiration for the legendary opener. He recalled following Sehwag’s career closely and even losing interest in watching the sport after the cricketer announced his retirement. Learning that Sehwag had independently watched his film with his child therefore made the experience feel incredibly special.

The filmmaker felt that Sehwag’s comments after viewing the movie represented much more than the praise of a well-known personality. Having admired the cricketer for years, Chaturvedi viewed the unexpected appreciation as a deeply emotional and personal moment. Sehwag’s words reminded him of his own journey from being an enthusiastic cricket follower to receiving recognition from someone he had admired for so long.

The circumstances surrounding the screening made the filmmaker even happier. Neither Chaturvedi nor anyone associated with the production had contacted Sehwag or encouraged him to watch the film. The former cricketer made the decision entirely on his own, watched Hanuman Ansh alongside his child and subsequently shared his thoughts with his followers.

For Chaturvedi, that spontaneous gesture transformed Sehwag’s appreciation into a memorable moment that felt almost like a culmination of two very different parts of his life: his love for cricket and his journey as a filmmaker.
