What is 'brotus' and why it is making headlines
Say what? You mean potus, with the trump inauguration and all that…?
Nope. That’s what they are calling the 'bromance' between Joe Biden and Barack Obama.

Bromance, eh?
Yeah. You know, when two guys are such good friends (or rather, bros) that the word 'friendship' alone doesn’t seem to do justice. These two spawned a ton of memes, especially after this election.

Aha. But aren’t they yesterday’s news? They barely have a week left in office now.
And they are going out in a blaze of glory. Obama sprang the best surprise gift on Biden two days ago, during his farewell.

A private jet? Fancy holiday?
Ha! Obama’s way classier than that. He awarded Biden the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honour in the United States and that too, with distinction. That added 'level of veneration' has only been given to three other people before — Pope John Paul II, Ronald Reagan and Colin Powell.

Whoa! Biden must have been… surprised!
He sure was. He was also overcome with emotion. That image of him turning away to wipe his eyes with his handkerchief pretty much broke the internet that day.

Awwww…
That’s exactly what everyone who saw it said! It was all very emo, what with Obama saying 'to know Joe Biden is to know love without pretence' and a tearful Biden calling the president 'a remarkable man who did remarkable things for this country.'

And they will all live happily ever after?

These two? Probably. But the rest of America might be a different story, now that the era of The Donald is upon them.
