‘Shudh Desi Romance’ was a breath of fresh air when it hit theatres a decade ago. Starring the late Sushant Singh Rajput and Parineeti Chopra, the romantic comedy was an unexpected critical and box-office success in 2013. As the rom-com turned 11 last week, Parineeti took to Instagram to remember her late leading man. Sharing a fanmade video that explored the shooting locales, the ‘Ishaqzaade’ actress wrote, “Love this! Miss you, Sushant. what fun we had on this one."
For the uninformed, on the 11th anniversary of the movie, a fan posted a video that shines a spotlight on the memorable spots featured in the movie, particularly where Parineeti and Sushant shot the title track "Shuddh Desi Romance." The brief video offers glimpses of Jodhpur, Rajasthan’s charming palaces and streets, along with the majestic Mehrangarh Fort, which served as a dramatic setting for their dance sequence. Choreographed by Ganesh Acharya, the song remains widely loved, and the video perfectly encapsulates the allure of Jodhpur’s captivating scenery.
Music composer duo, Sachin-Jigar thanked fans for making the songs of the movie popular. They told Times Now, “Shuddh Desi Romance is an album that's really close to our hearts. As the movie turns 11, we can't help but remember how Sushant, Parineeti, and Vaani's performances added that extra spark to our music.”
They added, "Seeing the same love for the album, even after all these years, fills us with a lot of pride. We want to thank the audience for keeping these songs alive and showering them with so much love."
