Esha Deol opens up about life after divorce
During a conversation on Curly Tales' podcast, Esha talked about her personal life after her separation and admitted that she currently misses love and romance. The actress described herself as someone who has always believed in romance. She shared that love is one of the most important parts of life for her and said she enjoys romantic songs, love stories and everything associated with romance. According to Esha, she has always been a "complete rom-com person," adding that this is something she feels is currently missing from her life.
When asked whether past relationships, breakups and the end of her marriage had changed the way she looks at love, Esha said they had not.
She explained, "No, these things don’t change. Breakups happen. I have had boyfriends in the past whom I broke up with. These things happen, but that doesn’t dilute my ultimate idea of love." Speaking about where that belief comes from, Esha credited her parents, Hema Malini and Dharmendra.
According to the actress, growing up while watching the unconditional love shared by her parents shaped her understanding of relationships. She said their bond became the standard for how she views love even today.
"That kind of love doesn't exist. There was dignity and respect in it."
Separation should be handled with dignity, says Esha
Esha also opened up about the emotional side of separation, especially when children are involved.
She said that a separation is deeply personal and sensitive, making it important to deal with the situation respectfully. Looking back at her own experience, Esha admitted that she never wanted her separation to become headline news. However, she understood that because both she and Bharat are public figures, they had a responsibility to address it with care, dignity and sensitivity.
