Recently, she opened up about her journey as the wife of RRR star, the lessons she has learned, and how her in-laws, especially Chiranjeevi and Surekha Konidela, have played a crucial role in guiding her through this high-profile life. She also revealed what was megastar's reaction was when he met her for the first time.

How Chiranjeevi reacted on meeting bahu Upasana for the first time?

While talking to Curly Tales, Upasana revealed that adjusting to life with a movie star wasn’t always easy. While she and Ram Charan belonged to similar circles in Hyderabad, getting married meant stepping into an entirely different world, one full of cameras, expectations, and constant public attention. That’s when her mother-in-law, Surekha, stepped in with advice that changed everything. “She told me, ‘Seeing is believing. Don’t believe everything everybody says,’” Upasana shared.


Surekha, wife of legendary actor Chiranjeevi, helped her through the complexities of being part of a film family. “My mom supported me a lot, but this life was new to her too,” Upasana said. “My mother-in-law coached me through it all.”

Speaking about her first meeting with Chiranjeevi, Upasana recalled how welcoming and understanding he was. “He already knew about me and said, ‘She’s not traditional, but she’s different.’ He encourages me, respects what I do and I have utmost respect for my in-laws. It is so important to have supportive in-laws.”

Upasana and Ram Charan’s love story wasn’t your typical filmy romance. “We were friends for two years, and there was no spark or dramatic moment. It wasn’t like Magadheera,” she said, referencing Charan’s famous film. Their relationship grew slowly and steadily, rooted in understanding and respect.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Chiranjeevi is gearing up for the release of Vishwambhara. Directed by Vassishta, the film also features Trisha, Meenakshi Chaudhary and Kunal Kapoor. The official release date is yet to be confirmed.
