West-calling: Kiran Mazumdar Shaw & Geeta Khandelwal attend events in the US

On the west coast Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, CMD, Biocon, attended her niece, Claire Mazumdar's graduation at Stanford over the weekend. Claire is now a PhD in cancer immunology. The proud aunt kept her Twitter feed alive with pictures from the ceremony and those of Claire's parents and friends posing with her for a quick snap.

On the east coast Geeta Khandelwal, mother-in-law of Anand Mahindra, gave a talk at an event organised by Asia Society's New York chapter last Tuesday, introducing the audience to the godharis (quilts) of Maharashtra. Her book on the subject and godharis were also available for sale. She was joined by her daughter, Anuradha Mahindra, and granddaughters, Divya and Aalika.
