Welcome To The Jungle OTT release details: When and where to watch the adventure comedy movie starring Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar has returned to the big screen with Welcome To The Jungle, the third film in the popular Welcome franchise. Released in theatres on June 26, the comedy adventure has opened with a large ensemble cast and plenty of familiar faces from Bollywood. While the film has only just begun its theatrical run, many viewers are already searching for details about its OTT release. Here's what is known so far.

Where will Welcome To The Jungle stream?

After completing its theatrical run, Welcome To The Jungle is expected to stream on JioHotstar. The platform has been confirmed as the film's digital partner through the movie's promotional material.

However, neither the makers nor JioHotstar have announced an official streaming date yet. Going by the release pattern followed by many recent Hindi films, the movie is likely to arrive on OTT around six to eight weeks after its theatrical release. That could place its digital premiere sometime in mid or late August, although this remains an estimate and not a confirmed schedule.

What is the film about?

Directed by Ahmed Khan and produced by Firoz A. Nadiadwala, Welcome To The Jungle revolves around a businessman-politician who comes up with an unusual way to hide Rs 2,000 crore of black money. His plan is to finance what he believes will become the biggest box-office flop ever made so the financial losses can be shown officially.

To make that happen, he gathers a washed-up actor, an incompetent filmmaker, gangsters and several eccentric characters for the project. But things take a completely different turn when the film crew, while shooting a military action movie in a remote jungle, is mistaken for an actual army unit. They suddenly find themselves caught in a real terrorist operation, turning the fake film into an unexpected adventure filled with action, confusion and comedy.

The film features one of the biggest ensemble casts seen in a Bollywood comedy in recent years. Akshay Kumar leads the film alongside Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Arshad Warsi, Jacqueline Fernandez, Disha Patani, Raveena Tandon, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Lara Dutta, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor and several others.
